Module 3 Wind Overview

Welcome to Module 3!

This module utilizes the books:
  • Yoga 4 Love Tools for Mind, Body and Spirit: For a Holistic Lifestyle Chapter 7
  •  Yoga 4 Love’s Big Book of Poses: Asana 101, 201 and 301 eBook by Lisa Ware.

Make sure when listening to the audio files and following along in the chapters to have your yoga clothes on and your mat ready. Much of this module is practical application.

SANSKRIT (sAHn-skrit, or in some cultures sAHn-skrit-ah… not SAY-UN-skret like they say in Texas!, lol!)

You will be doing a lot of asana (AHHH-sa-nah). This is pronounced with the inflection is on the ahhh, not (uh-SAA-na) or neither (uh-SAH-nuh). The ahhh is the first sound in the Sanskrit alphabet, the first sound a baby makes, and the last sound make as we cross over. Please practice this word and this language by pronouncing it correctly. There is a Divine key in the sound of Sanskrit! It is a huge connection to the Spirituality of this beautiful practice. To learn more, listen to the Nicolai Bachman CD’s (on the Reading List). You may always ask for pronunciation on the Sangha chats with Director to help on your Sanskrit. This is an ancient, downloaded language with a specific frequency, so it is very important to get correct.

  • Please go to Products in the Course website to get the complimentary eBook, which is the asana companion to the printed book, Yoga 4 Love’s Big Book of Poses: Yoga 101, 201 and 301 from the website. It’s free! *Note* Please use the eBook for questions on asana and use it for your hOMework! Do not Google/YouTube random yoga poses/vinyasas... who knows what is being taught there for cues and alignment.
  • We would like to know what you are learning, therefore we have created this eBook to conglomerate the most comprehensive list of the poses for you, complete with amazing asana photos, signature cues and Lisa’s notes on each pose listed. This is specifically for you as an asset in teaching Intuitive Vinyasa.
  • It is our intention for you to embody this specific style of vinyasas to carry on these vayus of energy into the world!

Daily Sadhana
At this point in your journey we expect your daily practices to be regular and disciplined as possible thus far.
  • Your Sadhana should include yogic style practices: such as pranayama, mantra, mala beads, chanting, reading spiritual texts in addition to the Dinacharyia, daily Self Care and Ayurvedic practices.
  • Please continue to log but no need to log DAILY, convert to one line per week and summarize your practices.
  • If you are super consistent already and have logged daily for a few months now, then you may then begin to capture your practices on a ‘weekly Sadhana post’ describing your daily routines. If you have questions please contact your Director for guidance.
  • Hands On Hours: Mark on Log as Code as 11 for Yoga Alliance EC hours. *super important

  • For Yoga Alliance add:
    • 16 hours Demoing/Assisting with approved Y4L Teacher, Director or Sister Studio Affiliate.
    • 16 Hours with a Y4L Internship; this can be assisting Lisa with Admin, marketing, posting, biz mentorship as well as attending live events and festivals with Team Y4L.
    • 200 RYT is calculated is Hands On 80% of your hours.
    • The Y4L hours add up as follows, 10 modules at 20 hours each= 120+; plus 16, 16, 16 from above= 180 Hands on hours, which is required by Yoga Alliance.

    • The other Course work is not calculated by hours, just completion and is NOT included in the calculation of the Hands On hours.
    • The lessons, reading and hOMEwork are part of the non contact hours, and therefore this program equates to receiving more than ‘300 hours’.
    • This course is intended for personal growth and embodiment of the Y4L Tools.

Hands On hours in a Y4L Approved studio with a 500 RYT:
  • You can find a local 500 RYT teacher and ask if they are looking for interns. If so, connect them to your Director via email if they are willing to be a Y4L Sister Affiliate. We will work out a way to accumulate more hours, if they are approved. See the PDF on Yoga 4 Love Sister Affiliate and Outside Classes for details, posted in Module, 1 Lesson 1.
  • We want you to fully embody the Chapter 7 signature practices and the Y4L Signature Intuitive Vinyasa flows before student teaching or going to other studios to visit or before creating your own variations of the flows.
  • Your studio practice hours should be between 12 (D) to A+ (20 hours practice per module x6 modules = 120 hours) for Certification.
  • For Yoga Alliance 300 Hour/500RYT you will need all 20 hours per 10 modules of Hands On and asana practice from an approved Y4L source. To maintain your appropriate hours, you must be on track for hands on hours with each module (see top of Module tab for the chart).

ACTION ITEMS:

  • Read/reference the Y4L Sequencing in Chapter 7 of the Yoga 4 Love Tools book.
  • Reference the eBook, Yoga 4 Love's Big Book of Yoga Poses: Asana 101, 201 and 301 for pre/post poses, benefits, contraindications  and cueing.
  • EXTRA CREDIT:  Please mark these lessons off on your Student Log and in addition mark these lessons on your PRACTICE TAB. Code as 11 for Hands On Yoga Alliance EC hours. *super important.

Practice Log Tab Student Log (on Google Sheets):

***Remember, any other yoga classes, other audio and other video, and YouTube videos that are not listed as part of your Y4L TP are NOT COUNTED toward your hours of practice needed for graduation. If you take other classes this is great! Please fill out a Doc on observations from that class, mark it on your log, but for the ‘hours’ column please place a zero (0), this way it will not total up in your hours of required Y4L Signature Intuitive Vinyasa practice.
